Rock's best buddy from the war and a top-flight Army Ranger and jungle fighter with expert martial arts skills. He was officially listed as MIA. His brain was transplanted into a monkey by the crazy witch doctor that ran the prisoner of war camp in the South Pacific, he and Rock were prisioners in. A sort of "Island of Dr. Moreau."

Once the war was over, there was no way he was going let anyone get hold of him, use him in experiments or put him in a circus. So he played Rock's pet monkey till they got back to the states, where they opened a detective agency. Between Rock's brawn and hectors brain, they make the perfect detective.

His wife however, didn't take the news well of him being alive and her being married to a monkey. One night of hot-Monkey love was too much and she left town with the local priest. Hector drinks too much, sometimes to cover the pain cause by the transplant and sometimes the pain of his lost love. He is a monkey-man living in a human world
