Rock's a bit of a loose canon. A bull in a china shop with a chain saw.

He was a hard assed top-kick in the Rangers during the war. Injured in a firefight, suffering with near mortal wounds, Rock tried to carry his best buddy, Hector Vines and himself to safety. But they were captured and experimented on in a prisoner or war camp run by a crazy witch doctor. The witch doctor saved their lives, only to run horrific experiments on them. Transferring Hector's brain into a monkey's body, and running inhuman mental and psychological experiments on Rock. He only survived due to his incredible physical stamina. However, Rock suffered some permanent brain damage, giving him bouts of dementia and schizophrenia.
After the war he returned stateside and started a detective agency with his pal Hector, who was officially listed as MIA.

He operates out of a sleazy part of town that has cheap rent and lots of folks with problems. Folks who will pay anything, risk anything to get things fixed. Cheating spouses, Blackmail, kidnappers, runaways, drug problems, extortion schemes, etc. He also has a bit of a temper and rep because of his head wound, so only the most desperate clients seek him out.

He's soft on Marcie his secretary, but he won't marry her because he blames himself for the death of his wife, Helen, who died at the hands of kidnappers while he was having a bout of schizophrenia.
