The Messenger is a former CIA analyst, someone the "Company" would welcome back into the fold in a second, except in this current version, our hero possesses low-level psychic powers which allow him to “see” people’s thoughts by making physical contact with the individual. He also exhibits the ability to “cloak” his own identity by causing those near him to see whomever they WANT to see, in place of him.

This allows him the means to right wrongs, and serve justice as he sees fit. The reasons for his mission will be revealed in future stories.
